Breeds
East Friesian
The East Friesian breed originated from the Friesland area in northern Germany and Holland. In Europe the breeds main purpose is to produce milk. However, the breed is also used as a cross for other breeds to improve milk production in non-dairy breeds of sheep.
Talla Farm stocks pure East Friesian from an imported bloodline, which have been selected over many years for high milk yields.
Lacaune
The Lacaune is a breed of domestic sheep originating near Lacaune in southern France. The Lacaune is the most widely used dairying sheep breed in France, with a population of about 800,000 ewes. Notably, it is the predominant breed used in the production of Roquefort cheese in France.
